Like many others, I transitioned from Windows to macOS. Having been so accustomed to Windows, I had optimized my workflow significantly for that operating system. I had countless tips and shortcuts that greatly boosted my productivity on Windows. So, I was shocked to find macOS lacking many features that I considered standard on Windows.
However, the great thing about macOS is its vibrant community of developers who create small, highly supportive apps. Most of these apps are either free or ridiculously expensive 🙂. After a few days of tinkering, I managed to find free apps that replicate the extremely handy features I relied on in Windows.
CMD+Space to open apps and files is such a powerful shortcut in macOS. However, you can take it to the next level with Raycast, a awesome app that can allows you to find and do literally everything with just 1 shortcuts, from searching for Figma file to control music, color picker, etc.,

Clipboard is an incredibly powerful feature that someone like me, who works with content, simply can’t do without. On Android, you can access it from the toolbar at the top of the keyboard. On Windows 10, pressing Windows + V brings up the clipboard feature. If you’re not using it yet, give it a try—it will completely change the way you use your computer.
Despite being such a great feature, it’s baffling that Apple doesn’t natively support it on macOS, iPad, or iPhone.
Thankfully, there are many macOS apps that add this functionality to your laptop. I haven’t tried many of them (most are paid 😢), but I’m currently quite satisfied with Maccy, a free software that enables clipboard functionality similar to Windows. In fact, it’s even more convenient because it allows for extensive customization such as the ability to paste without format and can save up to 200 entries, even after restarting the computer. I’ve also changed the shortcut to Option + V to activate Maccy, making it as seamless as using Windows.

Apple has truly reached near perfection with its trackpad. Perhaps it’s because of this pride that they’ve made the mouse experience so frustrating? Especially with their so-called “natural” scrolling. Honestly, there’s nothing natural about it. It’s completely counterintuitive to how people traditionally scroll with a mouse.
The annoying part is, if you go into settings to switch to the traditional scrolling direction, the trackpad scrolling also gets reversed! 😅 Moreover, when using any mouse other than Apple Magic Mouse, the scroll wheels get janky. Apple really want to sell their Magic Mouse!
